To make the best use of the investment in the undercarriage, it is important that its service life, relative to the purchase price, be as long as possible, which reduces operating costs.
We offer expert condition inspection and both classic and ultrasonic measurement of the wear rate of individual undercarriage parts on excavators, bulldozers and other construction machinery. A timely service intervention can save considerable sums — for example, it can prevent a situation where one defective component unnecessarily shortens the service life of the whole assembly. Turning the chain bushings allows you to achieve full use of the service life and even wear of all undercarriage parts.
With regular inspection, timely turning of the bushings of conventional lubricated chains, or possibly also repair and re-sealing of chains with rotating bushings, you can achieve the longest guaranteed service life of your machine without unforeseen downtime, the best operating economy thanks to maximum use of the investment in the undercarriage, and your construction machinery will achieve the lowest cost per machine hour.
Rules for achieving maximum undercarriage service life:
- minimise high speed when the machine is not under load
- use the narrowest possible track shoes
- alternate the direction of rotation
- set the chain tension correctly according to operating conditions
- visually check the condition of undercarriage parts daily
- regularly clean the undercarriage of caked-on material
