Running construction and logistics operations requires, above all, good work organisation and a perfect overview of the machinery deployed as well as staff in the field. In the past, this required significant manpower, and the larger the scale of the operation, the harder it was to monitor the whole situation effectively.
We now have technical resources available that make this process easier. One of them is the ESCO® Track Pro location-tracking device, which uses wireless networks – without limits, without borders, always with high precision.
The end unit – a transmitter – is installed on construction machines and equipment used in logistics and warehousing, such as trucks (tippers, semi-trailers), forklifts, transport boxes and containers, mobile cranes, generators, tracked vehicles and conveyors, loaders and excavators, etc. – and from there it sends a wireless high-frequency signal that works together with a control software portal on a laptop, desktop computer, smartphone or tablet. The mobile app is available for both Android and iOS.
The purpose of tracking mobile technical assets is to make their work more efficient. This prevents vehicles from moving outside pre-defined routes, off main roads and through hazardous corridors. Knowing the precise geographic location of construction machinery eliminates its misuse, unauthorised trips, various forms of downtime, incorrectly given or misunderstood work instructions, and even theft. Reliable, real-time electronic tracking of machine movement also saves the costs that would otherwise go into manually searching for deployed equipment in the field and unnecessary phone calls when you have no overview of it.
The ESCO® Track Pro app works with mobile networks as well as GPS and Bluetooth technology; the location devices have a built-in long-life battery and are protected against damage from moisture and dust. They work both in high temperatures in direct sunlight and in severe frost. They can be used without limitation anywhere on the surface of the earth – national and continental borders are no barrier.
